WORKSHOPS

Yoga Therapy for Groups

Yoga Therapy for Groups explores the mind/body connection through yoga and mindfulness practices without direct one-on-one attention. This can be particularly useful when there is a shared theme or issue among the group members. (For example recovery/support, weight management, smoking cessation.)

The full 8 week program is built around the process of change.  Each week has a theme like awareness, acceptance, discernment, and truth. The weekly themes build upon each other for a comprehensive and therapeutic process.

Enhance the experience by including a facilitated sharing circle.

“Incredible, very gentle and enlightening, just what I needed. I got clear ideas, images, sensations and an awareness of where I need to go in my healing. I can make general and specific changes in my life to achieve my intention as well as self-acceptance for where I am resistant to change.”
— RP, 'Yoga for Change' group class participant

Yoga Nidra

Experience the transformational state found between wakefulness and deep sleep. “Yogic sleep” enhances physical, mental, and emotional health by releasing tensions held in these layers of the self. Peel away accumulated stress, promote the body’s inherent capacity for healing, and tap your inner reservoir of ease, contentment, and joy!

Average length of workshop: 1 hour. A gentle yoga practice can be included. Workshop can be shortened or lengthened depending on your needs and interests.

Exploring the Prana Body

In Yoga and Ayurveda, the physical body is enlivened by energy, or Prana. Within the body Prana moves in 5 directions, governing various bodily functions. It also influences the processes of the mind. In this workshop we explore what is essentially the mind-body connection. Through discussion, yoga and breathing exercises, and guided awareness, we will sense the prana body, and learn ways to draw on it to support our overall health and well-being.  No yoga experience necessary.

2.5 hour workshop.

“At its heart, hatha yoga is more than just flexibility or strength in postures; it is the management of prana, the vital life force that animates all levels of being”
— Sandra Anderson

Preventative Self-Care for Seasonal Health

Dinacharya is the Ayurvedic practice of caring for the sense organs. It means simply, "daily routine." Healthy sense organs are essential for it is through them that we experience the world around us.

In this workshop the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and skin are cleansed and nourished through a variety of practices that can be easily integrated into your daily life. By caring for these organs, we are clearing the bodies natural channels of elimination, attending to the internal systems connected to those sense organs, and bringing awareness to the body in loving and attentive way.

This workshop is a fun and informative way to begin cultivating daily self-care routines that increase vitality, support the systems of the body and overall nourish your health.

Average length of workshop: 2 hours. Workshop can be shortened or lengthened depending on your needs and interests.
